My friend, who just had a baby girl, was gifted this awesome children's book. #amazingbabes is an illustrated account of some pretty prolific women. It would be great for any kid (or adult) to have as the simplicity of design and layout is rad. The feminist msg is really cool too.
"At first, feminists were assumed to be only discontented suburban housewives; then a small bunch of women's "libbers", bra burners, and radicals; then women on welfare; then briefcase carrying imitations of male executives; then unfulfilled women who forgot to have children; then women voters...that really could decide elections. That last was too dangerous, so suddenly we were told we were in a 'postfeminist' age..." #neverthelessshepersisted

Gloria Steinem, on top of being incredibly beautiful and kind is an American journalist and activist who contributed greatly to the 60s and 70s feminist movement. She speaks so intelligently and has contributed so much to society
I am a feminist! I use to be afraid to say that because I didn’t want people to think I was a man hater. Today I am not afraid cuz I think it’s time people get a little history lesson on feminism. Feminism doesn’t mean feminists hate man. When feminism was born women wanted to make equality happen for all. Feminist just wanted the same rights as men. They didn’t want men to suffer or be hated they just wanted to be treated like equals that’s all. No man hating what so ever. I think people get this opinion about feminism because there are some women who use feminism as a way to hate on man, but those women aren’t real feminist. Same goes for women who call themselves feminist and only think about issues and problems that only effect them not trans, men, women of colour. If you are a believer of equality for all then you believe in feminism, cuz that is what feminism was made for the fight for equality for all. So to all the women who call themselves feminist and hate on men stop now. Stop giving feminism a bad name because of your problems. From the 1800’s all the way to now we have fought harder and harder, 2018 will be the time when equality happens. Use your voice speak up the more of us who fight the more we will see change. #2018timeforequality#womensmarch#equality#fights#wewillrise#strongertogether#timeforchange#feminism#feminist#60sfeminist#70sfeminist#gloriasteinem teinem #timesup
