When the ENTIRE OFFICE orders cheese steaks, pizza and meatball parm sandwiches but you're trying to be good so you order a salad
...and then you take things a step further by making sure your portions are on point
I keep a set of color containers at my desk but rarely use them because I pretty much can eyeball what my portions loon like since I've been using them for almost an entire year! But I felt like being spot on today
This looks like a healthy salad, right? When I measured out the cheese , there was TRIPLE the amount you see in my blue container. I love cheese, don't get me wrong, but a single serving is perfect, there's no need to go that overboard! And the same with the walnuts, there were 4x the amount of a regular serving on this salad. Much to my surprise, the chicken and lettuce were the only things spot on!
Although all the ingredients are HEALTHY, and honestly such a delicious combo, it's so important to be mindful of PORTION SIZE! And they can get out of control REAL QUICK. Especially if you don't know what a portion looks like! Color containers to the rescue
I do have to admit- the mozz and roasted peppers aren't exactly on my meal plan persay, but I enjoyed them in moderation and I feel pretty good about this decision
It's all about that 80/20 lifestyle. Which means zero guilt ever here! . #lunchhourwin #that8020lifestyle >>>

Day 6 of #GetStretchyAtWork is #HIPS! One of my favorite exercises for opening up my hips is transitioning from left side splits through center splits to ride side splits.
If you've never done this before and want to try, you can use your hands to make it a bit easier.
If you feel ready, try transitioning with no hands. I like adding in a slight backbend in right and left side splits to remind myself to lift UP and square my hips!
“I went to my first yoga class with my mom 8 years ago. It was hot yoga, and, when we left, we felt so good we definitely wanted to go back. It was a very euphoric sensation, like walking on clouds. We started going there regularly. Yoga creates a very specific sensation that you don’t want to lose, so if you stop going you get a craving for it.
I taught yoga in Mexico for a year. The owner of the studio gave me feedback during my time working for him. He said something that made me cry. He said I had a healing power that I didn’t know about yet, and I should come see him in a few years.” #streettalk
