In my short time, I've witnessed a lot more deaths than I wish to admit. It's heartbreaking and difficult to process seeing families lose such young children and the children/infants themselves in such distress. Through it all, I'm in awe of the Filipino resilience that persists through tragedy. I've been humbled by my experience in the hospital because even in the midst of the most troubling times, the families and nurses maintain composed, hopeful, and loving as ever. Even with the limited resources, they push on through— they do what has to be done. As I was feeding this baby and others in the NICU, my heart was so full. In my hands I had a little champion that came into this world fighting. Each day is a different battle here, but I've been taught to celebrate the little victories and in my hands is a clear example of this. The NICU is home to the most brave babies out there. Cheers to you my precious baby for finishing your feeding! Nurse (soon to be) Tita Patty is oh so proud of you. @mdfinstruments#HowIDo#HowDoYouDo
