Conventional vs. Sumo dead-lift and low back posture:

Maintaining a neutral lumbar spine during heavy lifting may decrease your risk for low back pain by decreasing the torque placed on structures such as the lumbar vertebrae, discs, spinal extensor muscles, ligaments, and other associated structures.
Depending on your body type (i.e. torso to leg length ratio, arm length etc.), you may want to try variations in your stance (sumo vs conventional) and hand position to see which style suits you the best. Excessive "rounding" of the lumbar spine has been associated with increased risk for injury during both weighted and unweighted postures and thus, should be avoided.
In the below picture, the athlete @bka24 is able to maintain a neutral posture with each successive repetition using the sumo stance and lifting an impressive weight of 600 lbs at a bodyweight of 143 lbs! #gains #deadlift #physique #bodybuilding #hawaii #lifting #weightloss #train #instagood #instadaily #instagramers #fitness #fit #motivation #training #me #follow #tips #l4l #hawaii #hawaiilife #powerlifting #doyou #live #liveyourlife #tips #dbz
