#Balancing#Work and additional Qualifications within #FoodManufacturing by @tom_brunt
Additional work related Food Manufacturing qualifications can be hugely beneficial to not only how good you look on your C.V but your overall knowledge and understanding of the work that you do. Qualifications such as NVQ’s can be obtained by almost anyone if they are willing to work towards it and put aside the time and effort to complete it.
The difficult thing and the thing that will put some people off doing them is figuring out a way to balance, successfully managing your work load and also completing the various units that an NVQ brings. I have recently just come to an end of completing an NVQ and found it quite easy to do. I set aside one hour of my day 3 days a week to crack on with the NVQ units and have managed to complete the NVQ 4 months early. During the time of doing my NVQ I still managed to achieve above and beyond my targets set in the workplace despite the additional workload at the end of the day.
The reason, I feel I found this so easy is due to the mindset I approached my NVQ with. I didn’t see it as a chore or ‘homework’ or something to despise and moan about, I saw it as an opportunity to develop myself and my understanding of the industry I am working in.
Furthermore towards the end of my NVQ I had a good few successful months and part of that success is due to my knowledge increasing during my NVQ. I became more confident due to me knowing a lot more about everything to do with my work and as such success came from it.
So If you are considering doing an NVQ I would 100% recommend it, it certainly helped me!
The lovely people at @phreaksngeeksco asked me some real NICE questions about what I do. If you wanna read how wicked 2017 was the link is in my bio, if you don't care that's fair enough too keep scrolling : @therumblefish
