Since moving to Philly back in April, my “Welcome” packet has given me many life-changing encounters; I got a new job, established friendships with photography peers, discovered I inspired one person to pursue a career in photography, and I almost got mugged (and things would’ve turned out for the worst), to name a few. But thank goodness I am still here learning my purpose in life today.
I didn’t take many photographs this year, but I was able to cement a better understanding of my own photo processes and compositional techniques, embracing the true beauty of darkness, and the contrasting purity of light. I think I will continue to do just that, and am hopeful I will eventually perfect the art sooner, rather than later. I present you my top 10 shots for 2017.
I also want to take a moment and say thank you, everyone, so SO much for tuning in. I hope you continue to enjoy my work, and I’m looking forward to many more adventures! #isearchforAdventure
PSA (please bear with me): I just want to take a moment and say thank you to everyone who has been following me and my work here on @instagram, especially those since day one. I’ve gotten some awesome projects and gigs because of this online platform, as well as falling victim to a few out there who took advantage of me and my peers. I’ve met some wonderful people, some I consider really valuable allies and confidants, to close friends.
Ultimately, my goal is to perfect my craft in photography. This has been a big part of my life growing up in a family of creative artists, actors, musicians, and videographers in the Philippines. This is a facet where I’ve been commended, critiqued, and inspired by. Some people have said this route is unrealistic, but this IS my reality. I enjoy creating images, whether it be fun, thought-provoking, and even confusing, then sharing it to everyone. I’m owning up to it, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
That said, I already have a few things set in motion for 2018, and I couldn’t be any happier with the direction I’m going. Thank you very much, guys. I really appreciate all of you. #isearchforAdventure : @asenseofhuber
