It's week 3 of #sewnwithhart! Our focus for this week’s discussion is: How do we make sewing more enjoyable? We want to hear from you. . .
Feel free to respond in comments OR we highly encourage you to join the

Very, very excited to announce that my first quilt pattern—which I’ve named the Akasha Quilt—is now available for purchase on Etsy! (Link in profile) This is a beginner-friendly quilt pattern which you may recognize from vlogmas as the quilt I made for my mom for Christmas! Several of you asked if I could design patterns around those Christmas quilts, so I decided why not?! As always, there are 10 free quilting tutorials on my YouTube channel to walk you step-by-step through the quilting process. The pattern will be 20% off through next Monday (no code needed) I hope you enjoy! Happy quilting and I can’t WAIT to see your versions!
Animal prints- love them or leave them?? I think they are totally starting to grow on me, especially in these gorgeous colors from @barij’s new Indigo & Aster fabrics. She is the sweetest and sent me a big box of her amazing fabrics to sew up samples. It was such a treat to come home to from a busy, adventurous weekend!!!
It may be true that the cobbler’s children have no shoes. This moody botanical on black fabric has been on a bolt, staring me down from across the loft for months. Today was it’s day, and this one is mine. A variety of botanical print cushions and pillows will hit the shop later this week, just in time for Spring.

Next month is the Month of Making Pants, and I’m working on illustrations for the SSW Planner. Making sketches from the crotch-selfies of my online sewing friends is giving me all sorts of feelings. I love seeing what you’re making. I love thinking about what we’re all trying to do when we make our own clothes. #sewhere#sew#isew#sewing#selfsewn#selfsewnwardrobe#sewcialists#sewcial

I've started a new series on the blog called #makerspotlight. In this series, I will be interviewing other makers to better understand their vision and journeys as artists. I kick off the series by “interviewing” myself, but next week I will be sharing a interview with my good friend Kim from @kimposed. This is my way of finding inspiration and promoting good people doing cool things. Stay tuned and check out my link in bio called Maker Spotlight! #makersmovement#makersgonnamake#livecreative#meetthemaker#sandiegomade
