We were playing today and Ivy noticed that we have the same hair! She said, "Grandma, my hair is the same color as yours, and it's long like yours! It's like we're the same!" That absolutely melted my heart!! So I happily obliged when she asked if we could take a picture.
When our children were little, like Ivy and Hesher, and they were being ornery and cranky, we'd look at them and say, "Whatever you do, DOOON'T smile!" They could be as cranky as ever, and it would work EVERY time!! It may take a few times of saying it, but it always works, without fail. Pretty soon, the cranky moment was forgotten and we'd all end up laughing. I quickly learned that using the same tactic gets a natural smile out of child, when I needed/wanted one. I have carried it over now to my grand babies and I LOVE the happy, joyous giggles I can get! Especially when they slap their hands over their mouth to hide the fact that they can't hold it in. And just so you know, it still works on my teens at home, too!
Also, watch this little bean, all relaxed and totally enjoying the fact that I'm tickling the bottom of her foot!! What 4 year old isn't ticklish on their feet?! She LOVES it! I guess she gets it from her grandma, because I love it, too!
Either I'm suuuper boring, or I just wore them out today!! It's 8 pm and they're zonked! So much for giving them a bath tonight! But my old bones knows this means one of two things: 1 - one, or both, are going to wake up at midnight and be ready to party! 2 - they'll be up at the butt crack of dawn for the day. Let's hope for the latter!#LuckiestGrandmaEver#SoBlessed#IvySpam#TheGrizz
