The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is a tale of two brothers in the humble city of Kabul in Afghanistan. This simple narrative of redemption so easily captures the essence of brotherhood, loyalty, fidelity, and love in the face of betrayal and injustice. Just as Khaled Hosseini's works have brought tears to people all over the world, this tale also has its share of sorrow and pain, but you can count on a soul-stirring journey with every chapter. Personally, it's one of the very few books that managed to move me and also gave me one of my all-time favourite quotes. The book has numerous lessons to give and they find their way to you slowly and with so much intensity. I highly recommend this book to anyone no matter the genre they're fond of.
PS: The book also gives a very vivid picture of the local life in the city of Kabul from the years gone by.
As a parent of color, this book has me stopping every few pages to keep my feelings in check. Fuck man, #KhaledHosseini has my emotions by the collar with this. I'm just a masochist in his grasp. #andthemountainsechoed
Grievances unspoken, burdens gone unprotested, a destiny submitted to and endured. Words don't justice with what impact the wonderwomen in this piece of magic have on you. #khaledhosseini#whattookmesolong
