A typical husky racing team consists of 4 pairs. From the front to the back these are known as the lead, swing, point and wheel dogs. Each pair has particular attributes that makes them suited to their position. The unique skills and abilities of the dogs contribute to the overall robustness of the team. As a result, there is an art in choosing and cultivating a team which has a cohesive dynamic with a productive hierarchy. Two alfa males can become incongruous with the pack if dominance is not established. An effective team has only one weakness, another husky pack. I leant this when my team (pic above) started bitting the heals of the team in front a little too literally.
