That moment when you've been exploring the incredible terrain of Walla Walla all day in the cold and rain, and then magically the sun comes out for just a moment, and it feels so good that you can't help grinning ear to ear even with #purpleteeth from all the delicious Syrah โœจ๐Ÿทโ˜‚๏ธ๐ŸŒค๏ธ I had an amazing experience in Washington, met the most incredible winemakers and tasted some very special wines. Thank you to everyone I met along the way! I'll be back! #WAwine #washingtonwine #tasteWA

I also work as a freelance consultant with a company that has a unit in Spiti, which ensured that I ended up spending almost three months in Spiti, during last one year.
.
And I had read quite a bit about Spiti before that, about the middle land it is, about Spiti being a land beyond every land, where one finds itself in a neverending nothingness, enhanced only by the folds in the barren mountains, on which you sometimes see silhouettes of a few humans walking by.
.
And then I landed there, travelling from Manali to Kaza, counting villages after Kunzum Pass; Losar, Hansa, Hal, Pangmo, Khurik, and then the driver would point towards Ki monastery on the otherside of the valley as we'd have been crossing Khurik, before entering Rangrik and then dashing towards Kaza.
.
I felt the effect of low levels of oxygen, the first night I slept in Kaza, but never again. As I walked through the villages perched on the higher slopes and meadows, until it became a norm for me to just pick my camera and bag, and leave in search of a new landscape.
.
And then one day, somewhere between being lost and finding myself, I arrived at this point where I was sitting just outside Langza village, staring at Chau Chau peak rising towards the sky, still covered in snow in August, and found myself in complete silence.
.
I was nowhere in life, there wasn't much money, I had recently broken up, and away from everyone I knew in a region without any phone network.
.
I couldn't feel anything anymore, neither sadness nor happiness, except a stillness like the mountains in front of me. And while two roads would've lead me outside Spiti, I didn't want to take any of them. It was like I had finally arrived in that middle land, between all the Himalayas.
.
I had arrived at parts of me, beyond every part I had previously contained. And I guess that's what Spiti does to you.
.
It leaves you in this state of bliss, where if you give yourself a chance to think and feel freely, you find your perspectives widening up, and you start to hear your heart clearly once again.
.
It's another day's story, about what my heart said at that moment, but I'm glad that I took those steps, and arrived in Spiti back then.
