"As much as some people would like to believe, for their own peace of mind, that the appearance of evil in this world had a clean cause, the truth was never that simple." - Night Film, by Marisha Pessl.
If you've seen my stories from the past couple of days, you've noticed little to no reading was done this weekend. Instead, I spent the days hiking, being amazed by nature, and playing with two adorable kittens.
Now that I'm back home (but only for a few hours, since tonight we'll hit the road again to visit @alyaofwinterfell and, yes, I'm freaking out about it!) I've grabbed my next read: Night Film. I've seen fairly mixed reviews about it, but @_sarawithoutanh's raving about it in many of her videos was the push I needed to buy it, and its gloomy and creepy vibes the motivation to pick it up in fall. On a second thought, however, maybe it'd be a better fit for October... I'll let you guys know if I end up with a great Halloween recommendation. Although being honest, and judging by Alja's visit at the beginning of the month, I won't be reading much this week either, so it'll most likely end up being an October read anyway.
Do you guys have some spooky recommendations for the months ahead? I'd like to add some to my tbr. Not that I'm running low on books to read, but who cares.
