โ€ขM O M E N Tโ€ข We all just need a moment sometimes. A moment to breathe, a moment to feel and a moment to just not be responsible to anyone. This request for these moments rings especially true since Iโ€™ve become a mom. I truly have come to learn that when I take these moments for myself, I come back feeling refreshed, patient, energized and with more love in my heart for my family then ever! Today on the blog Iโ€™m sharing my moments that help me feel balanced, full of love and allow me to embrace the journey {link in bio}.

@catherine.wigg posts are always speaking to my mama heart ๐Ÿ’• โ€œItโ€™s important to express gratitude to our children just for being who they are. Rarely do we thank them for who they are, yet we always want them to appreciate who we are. If we as parents took a moment to look our children in the eye and say, โ€œthank you,โ€ really meaning it, their sense of their value would expand exponentially. In this way, we communicate that they have something to contribute just by being themselves.โ€ - @drshefalitsabary
The other day William didnโ€™t โ€œlistenโ€ and do what I was basically โ€œdemandingโ€ he do. (My ego was fired up!)... and when I calmed down I genuinely applauded him for knowing who he is and NOT listening to me when it didnโ€™t feel good. Sounds crazy, right? But really think about it... #consciousparenting #momlife #letthembelittle #family #gentleparenting

As mothers, I think we tend to take our childrenโ€™s failures as our own. At least Iโ€™ve been there๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ, this morning, actually. Our son has had some tough moments lately; moments when he doesnโ€™t make the best decisions. It happened again this morning. While sobbing on the phone to my husband, I was beating myself up on the inside. I felt like a terrible mother, who somehow isnโ€™t capable of teaching her children right from wrong. .
After a thorough in-my-brain berating, I put myself back together, fed the kids lunch and put them down for their naps. While I was rocking M to sleep, in the silence, I clearly heard what God wanted me to learn from this experience. He whispered right into my heart to put my hope in Him. You see, Iโ€™ve been wrestling with this. Knowing I have my children up on the pedestal where God, and God alone, should be. Iโ€™ve had a very hard time reconciling the FACT that the tangible, everyday love I give to and get from them pales in comparison to His love for me. .
Our children, our spouse, likes on Facebook and Instagram - whatever weโ€™re putting above God - well, they WILL let us down. I love my son with my whole heart and I always will, but Iโ€™m just beginning to understand what it means to put my identity in Christ. My son failed at something today. That does not make me a failure. And it doesnโ€™t make him a failure either, it makes him human. Now, I need to move forward by offering my son the same grace that God pours out onto us everyday. He will have consequences and he will learn from this and he will do better in the future. And I will start working on finding my hope, faith and identity in God!

Next Monday Iโ€™m back to work (yes itโ€™s 1.5 months early) and I have SO many fix emotions about this.๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿค—
Iโ€™ve always been a person (not parent because Iโ€™m not just a mom) that feels accomplished or fulfilled when Iโ€™m working. Itโ€™s a form of independence that I thrive for. I work as an Special Educational Assistant with students in our local public-school district and absolutely LOVE my job! The staff is supportive and fantastic, the kids are fun and energetic and the whole environment has such a positive feel to it!
On the other hand, I love being with my kids, I love seeing them laugh, cry, stumble, fall, pick themselves up, figure things out, use their creativity, learn and want to share it with me everyday!!๐Ÿ˜
Then there are days that I just want to be able to take a pee without an audience..๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšฝ
๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ All seriousness aside, Iโ€™m looking forward to missing my babies and enjoying every minute with them when Iโ€™m home! Thankful also to have my summer vacations off with to be home with them 2 full months a year!!
