Today I was overwhelmed by the thought that every one of us once had feet small enough to fit in the palm of our mother's hand. Obvious? Perhaps. But there is so much we can learn from this. For me it's a (timely) reminder of our shared humanity and a call to a kinder, gentler and more forgiving approach to others and ourselves #weareallone#bekind#lovewins
The road may be long and the skies may be low at times, but I believe the next generation will show us that we have nothing to worry about today. I am terrified that a Bay Area JCC received a bomb threat; that the new Education Secretary opposes the public school system; that the president elect is a proven racist and misogynist; that the fossil fuel industry is in bed with the cabinet. Everyone of these things directly threatens my family who attends public schools and works in clean energy and goes to the JCC and is not white. Yet I still see undeniable beauty everywhere I look, and I still believe that love wins. Stay tuned.
