December and it’s time to feel festive, wrap up work for the year, catch up with friends and family and celebrate what’s going well.
BUT we know that not everyone has this view of the silly season so if you’re not feeling that festive try a couple of approaches to shift your thinking
1. Identify one thing you enjoy doing in December and do that. Perhaps it cooking treats, volunteering to support others, Seeing people you have been meaning to reconnect with, or a coffee with someone you enjoy seeing.
2. If what you’ve done in the past wears you down or isn’t fun anymore then maybe it’s the year to make a new tradition or plan. Refine your end of year celebrations and put a new touch to it.
3. Reframe your thinking and focus on what is positive and shift from obligation to enjoyment., from negative to positive outcomes and reasonable expectations of yourself and others.
