As per usual, my girl hit the nail on the damn head #Repost@suziethesurvivor ・・・
“SO here is your reality check: it is okay for you to let loose and give your body a break. I am on my period, which is THE most god-awful time of the month, period! Pun. I have given myself full permission to take the amount of painkillers I need to get through the day semi-comfortably. I haven’t exercised, because I’m exhausted and in pain, EVEN THOUGH my eating disordered thoughts are hanging out in the back giving me their unsolicited advice. I am eating DOUBLE what I do normally which is kind of terrifying but I’m obeying my hunger, and if I want an f-ing cookie, why not eat the f-ing cookie!? My life isn’t a WW ad. Who gives AF!? I’ve taken naps because I needed them. Don’t feel GUILTY for giving your body what it needs. We as women are programmed to feel guilty about EVERYTHING we do involving our bodies, or really our lives in general. Society wants to micromanage us. Hell no! Get out of here with that shit! (Am I using too many exclamation marks? Is my tone too loud? I mean what I’m saying! I’m passionate about women’s -or really anyone’s- rights!) I have period acne. Yup. I’m letting it be. Letting it breathe. It’ll come and go. I am not perfect. I never will be. Acne are just like little teachers. Reminding us to love ourselves. To treat our bodies with KINDNESS. I took this selfie to show that. Also naturally large breasts sag. So we praise them from some angles but never show them drooping. Mine are totally droopers if I am bending over. It is completely normal. If your breasts sag, don’t worry! Most do, we just don’t show it. So this is just a little unfiltered reminder that you aren’t alone and we can tackle our lives with love and fierceness, one step at a time. #periods#menstrualcramps#endometriosis#takingcareofme#lovingyourself#selflove#selfcare#selfrespect#selfworth#strength#patience#kindnessmatters#bekindtoyourbody#loveyourbody#bodyacceptance#reclaimingmybody#abusesurvivor#rapesurvivor#edrecovery#selfharmrecovery#mentalillness#endthestigma#healing#hope#saggyboobsmatter#naturalboobs#nofilter#unedited#realrecovery”
Trying to manifest this in my lifetime! A bathtub with an open window for fresh air, all while smelling burning wood as the fire crackles. Add some wine/champagne and you're set! Yes, yes, yes, PLEASE!
Simple Living for the Stressed Out, Worn Down or Recovering Perfectionist, Tip No 3:
You are likely your own worst critic. Learning to stop your negative self-talk and replace it with a kinder truth is imperative to living a simple and joyful lifestyle. Be your own best friend by getting clear on what you need for optimal wellbeing and stop feeling the need to explain or justify your decisions to others. You have a right to choose your own slow and simple path whether others agree or approve.
Be wary of becoming critical, rigid or controlling with others as you aim to simplify. You may be quite sure your way is right (ahem) but make space for dialogue and listening to each other’s dreams as you move forward. Living with self-compassion often means spilling more compassion over onto others who are also bumbling their way along imperfectly. Make it a goal to work on accepting criticism without anger (). When someone disagrees with or even dislikes you, it does not inform your identity or worthiness.
Learn to laugh at yourself. We’re all a little messed up in my opinion and learning to cut ourselves some slack is important. Deepening self-awareness and self-compassion will allow you to infuse your relationships and life with more humor. Own who you are, remember that you’re a work in progress, and enjoy a good belly laugh.
