Trailers up! ( well it was already up on YouTube but a good quality trailer is up on my Vimeo - link in my bio )
Less is more. This scene was originally supposed to be shot during the day and the gym had this beautiful row of small, high up windows that just naturally looked gorgeous. Unfortunately due to some scheduling conflicts we had to move this scene and shoot it in between waves of rain ( yay monsoon season )
I originally set it up to have a 3/4 key and a high up rim light that was based off the existing fluorescent practices. When I came down to check it out it looked good... but too good, too clean / pretty. I played around with it a little bit and decided that it just wasn't this film ( or at least what we'd been making thus far ). So I killed all the lights - ours and the overheads dialed in a color I liked, flagged and diffused the source and came to this which I felt suited the film far far better.
Lit by a single Skypanel C-120 through a 8x8 (diffusion) and flagged off at the sides. This was my first time using Skypanels and I can see why they're so popular right now. The pure versatility, raw output and connivence of these fixtures is so worth the price tag especially if you're packing light ( tho I would say they're a tad heavy for some jobs ).
FIRST DINNER • First meal in Manila with my famjam. A nostalgic meal of lechon manok (that's spit-roasted chicken) served with a bevy of side dishes and sauces. The best side was their ukoy, crispy fried with lots of sweet potato shreds and mini shrimp, dipped in pungent vinegar. The true highlight though was dessert. The ice scramble ice cream tasted exactly like my childhood. Strawberry ice cream, powdered milk, mini marshmallows, that chocolate sauce. It totally brought me back. And there's still a lot more where that came from. @sarichickenlechon#nomnomnoms#2018fooddiary#Manila#manilaimcominghome#babalikkarin#reminisce#lechonishere#foodieapp
