Through the years of study - I remember there being moments where I asked myself, "Will I ever use this information in real life?  How can organic chemistry ever be useful to me? How will learning to read Chaucer in Old English be relevant to me?" In retrospect, I realize that every part of my education added to my life in some way.  History and culture that I learned outside of medicine have expanded my experiences as I travel.  Perhaps the greatest value all the years of science classes I took as a Molecular and Cellular Biology major at Harvard and then the years of scientific research I performed in plastic surgery at UCLA was helping me develop my skincare line based on science.  Knowing how to interpret scientific data, separate legitimate and proven studies from those with errors in design, and understanding the specific nuances of molecular formulas, gave me the knowledge and experience to create an ideal formulation of products that are highly effective.  In celebration of all the years of school that allowed me to use my scientific knowledge to help women across the world achieve smoother, hydrated, and more beautiful skin, it gives me great joy to offer my back to school special on MD GLAM @mymdglam products.  Don't miss out!  25% off the entire store ends in less than 60 hours.  Go to MDGLAM.com and enter code: BACK2SCHOOL at the checkout. @beautybydrcat #mdglam #skincare #backtoschool

@Regrann from @beautybydrcat - Happy Friday everyone. As I was finishing my surgery today, a complicated 7 hr breast revision case, I was mentally and physically drained towards the end and even though I never really like to bring those things up I wanted to show a different and a bit less glamorous side of my Instagram posts. My feet were so sore at the end I just had to sit down and rest. To be honest I had to scroll though my own feed to find some glam photos of myself to cheer myself up as I wasn't feeling very sexy and feminine in my sweaty scrubs and my blue shoe covers but reading all your comments and knowing that my patient is going to look awesome kept me going.
I've gotten a lot of questions on Instagram on how I balance work, family, and fitness. I'll be honest - it's not easy! The important thing is to love everything you fill your life with and commit to it with your whole heart. It may not seem like the easiest thing to wake up at 5 or 5:30 in the morning to perform surgery or to go to the gym for a workout, but I love the commitment - being passionate about something and feeling like I'm working hard for it. I'm used to the feeling of sacrifice, dedication, and hard work. I've been doing it my whole life and thrive on it.
In any situation you have the choice to feel overwhelmed and give up, or to grind your teeth and live for the challenge. Follow your passions in life and always remember why you started in the first place. Have a joyful and amazing weekend. Dr. Cat ❤️ #mdglam - #regrann

While looking through my older photos I can't help but noticing that thankfully, I've been able to preserve the appearance of my skin. Skin aging and exposure is very unforgiving - once the facial skin gets sun damaged, wrinkled, hyperpigmented and dry, it's very difficult to recover. Prevention is key when it comes to skin. Here are 6 simple and honest skin and beauty tips on the go that will help you slow down the aging process of your skin and keep your skin flawless for many years to come:
1. Wash your face morning and evening with warm water.
2. Use moisturizer daily
3. Drink plenty of water
4. Eat foods heavy in antioxidants
5. Start #Botox early before you start getting wrinkles to prevent them from forming
6. Be careful with the sun exposure. At least try to avoid being in the sun between noon and 3pm when the sun is the strongest. Always wear sunscreen and sunblock and don't forget to re-apply.
As far the skincare goes I'm confident to say that my own line @mymdglam is superior in quality and feeling to anything else I have ever tried and I have been an avid skincare user since I can remember. -Dr. Cat #mdglam #skincare #antiaging

This post outlines 5 things you might be doing that are contributing to you looking older.
1. You are sedentary
It's easy to come home from work and sit in front of the TV or computer, but it’s not what’s best for you. If you work a job where you sit much of the day, being sedentary at home is a bad idea. You will notice weight gain if you haven’t already. While you may think coming home and relaxing for 5 hours before bed is okay, it may actually contribute to you feeling more sluggish.
2. You neglect your skin
Skin care is extremely important if your goal is to slow the signs of aging because it’s the first thing people notice. You want to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. Hydrating from the inside is important, but skin needs help stay moisturized from the outside as well. It’s important to create a skin care routine to keep yourself looking young. Exfoliation is important for sloughing off dead skin and revealing newer and brighter skin. If you don’t have a skin care routine, begin one today.
3. You sit in the sun
This goes hand in hand with neglecting your skin, but it’s important to stress how much damage the sun can do. We all need some sun to get the very important vitamin D. We don’t need to burn our skin trying to achieve the perfect golden skin. That golden skin will become leathery and wrinkled one day. Always wear sunscreen and reapply often if outdoors for extended periods of time.
4. You eat junk food
Junk food can wreak havoc on your body. It causes weight gain, it can throw hormones out of whack, and it can make your skin look horrible and older. The more junk food you eat, the less good stuff you’re probably eating, because you’re filling up on fat and carbohydrates.
5. You don’t sleep enough
You might not need the full eight hours a night that is recommended to feel good in the morning, but it’s very important that you get enough sleep. Lack of sleep will make you tired, leave you with bags under your eyes, and can even lead to weight gain. It’s important to get your rest if you want to look young longer. #mdglam #skincare #antiaging @beautybydrcat
