The view from atop Lone Cone mountain, looking out on to Tofino, a small surfing community in British Columbia.
Ally, a fellow traveler I met at the @tofinohostel and I hired Eugene, a First Nations local, to take us to Meares Island by boat yesterday. We were racing against the clock to beat out a storm due in by 3, or risk being stranded on the Island without proper equipment. Two and a half hours, 730 meters in elevation, and a ham sandwich later, she snapped this shot looking down on all the incredible little islands in the area. Just as we pulled in to the docks at #Tofino, the rain started to fall.
The only negative of the day? We missed a pod of orcas traveling through the harbor. The video Eugene captured was awesome though.
