Wikipedia says: Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America. The ultra-prominent 14,115-foot fourteener is located in Pike National Forest, 12.0 miles west by south of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado.
What it doesn't say is that it's all kinds of awesome. You can go up on a train which has the best views or you can drive up there in your own car. There's not many mountains with a road leading up the top!
They even have a race which finishes up at the top of the mountain which seems really crazy to me - it's really steep! The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest auto race in the U.S., it's a 12.42 mile course with 156 turns. The next one is coming up in June.
