The Lavender Lemon Debutante @miette cake was worth every hour of time it took to make! Finley took one bite and with his mouth full said, "oh wow....this is really good." Ben said, "Lemon isn't something I normally would prefer but I really want more of this." I just sat there quietly and ate the best cake I have ever tasted...maybe with slight tears in my eyes. I'm not even being dramatic. Hormonal...perhaps, but dramatic... never. I am so excited to make more versions of this!
My first @miette cake! Wow! I love to bake but I generally stay within safe recipes that I know won't fail. This petite 6" cake has three layers of hot milk cake, home made lemon curd, lavender simple syrup and European lemon buttercream which is worth every bit of it's effort for it's silky smooth texture. Dressed in freesia and forsythia blooms, it tempts us until after dinner tonight!
