You know how in a wrestling match there’s a wrestler that when he’s exhausted and at the point giving up, he gets to tap out before he dies? This usually means he’s lost the match. Gave up. Had no more fight in Him. Well imagine if that “tap out,” actually meant that instead of him ending the match, now he’s calling for the hulk to step in for for him and continue to fight. Wouldn’t that be awesome?! He would never loose! Well thats the same concept with surrender, except I don’t think we’re actually supposed to exhaust ourselves before we “tap out.” So many times we fight our battles thinking that we are the only one available to fight them, and when the fight has taken its toll on us, and we're on the floor with no more fight in us, we say, "I’m done.” Like if it was meant to be fought alone and once our strength has reached its limit, we have no other option than to just quit or stop. But the thing is that, we were NEVER meant to fight our battles alone. It’s us that CHOOSE to not surrender, choose to fight alone, and choose to exhaust ourselves by keeping God out of the equation. God says that He fights our battles for us, we just need to surrender them to him…
But why do we continue to exhaust ourselves? What does it entail to surrender? Is it burning out all our energy and strength to obtain something, with Gods help? No…
Is it doing our part to obtain that goal, knowing that we probably don’t have what it takes, but thats ok, because we have God on your side and He DOES have what it takes and equips us to accomplish it? Yes!
It’s surrendering our whole self to His will and His plan. If we invite Him in and surrender control TO Him, He will no doubt take the wheel. He will open the doors that need to be opened, close the doors that need to be closed, give us His strength, when ours has run dry. He gives us His power, and wisdom to overcome OUR battles. It’s not gonna happen on our strength alone. We need to co-partner with God and ask Him to fight our battles. Surrender to him when we can’t anymore, ask Him for his peace, guidance, and direction and HE WILL PROPEL YOU FORWARD!! ;)
Seated meditation with my eyes closed is pretty much over for me. The night Trump won the presidency, I stopped closing my eyes. I stopped because it felt like denial. I'm not saying meditation doesn't work for you. But I was using it to escape into. Pretending all in the world is well by closing my eyes to the truth. For now, I choose a kayak as my vessel of presence. I choose diving into a turquoise sea, listening to the sound of the ocean breathing. I choose to feel the sun on my skin and the wind in my hair. I choose being with all of the people I will ever have the chance to meet and to love. #meditation#presence#mindfulness#ocean#celtic#tantric#nature#family#human#real
