“Oh give me land, lots of land, under sunny skies above...”

While doing my mindful photography practice with this photo from my Torrey Pines walk yesterday (Snapseed app Retrolux6 refined, swipe left to see Retrolux11, the original and 15 seconds of the magic), I kept hearing the opening line (with a little poetic license I discovered later) to Cole Porter’s song lyrics “Don’t Fence Me In” (in Willie Nelson’s voice :) Do you ever have song lyrics or melodies spontaneously appear in your mind like I do in meditation or creative reverie that illuminate or answer your big existential questions?).
.
As I looked at the photo, I felt my way back into that moment: Torrey Pines Reserve’s Guy Fleming Trail. Beautiful sunny warm fall-into-winter morning. Hiking with my wise friend Cindy talking about the human need to feel special. And then we are stopped in our tracks when we see these wowzer Century Plants growing and blooming in these open hills with the ocean blowing a warm breeze behind us. Even sweeter was finding the tiniest hummingbird perched on top of Stalk 2 from the left and hundreds of bees buzzing around the flowers of stalk 3.
.
With so many of the Torrey Pines trees dying in the park, seeing Life so alive transformed the idea of “special” from my personal egoic need into a moment of grace and beauty that we can all access through Nature if we will just get ourselves there and allow ourselves to feel and appreciate its majesty.
.
Wide open protected land is an incredible gift and so important to my health and well being, and yours too, and all beings and the planet. I’m so grateful to all the people who sustain our park systems, to my friend Cindy and all wisdomkeepers, to Nature for its incredible blessings, and you for joining me on this “special” journey. ❤️🙏🌿

💁🏻✨When was the last time you got still with yourself? Here are 3 tips for cultivating your intuition.✨🙏🏼

1. Meditation ⠀
Develop a practice of going within. We live with constant distractions, going within can create the space to filter out what is unnecessary so that one can begin to hear what the soul really needs. This can be done through mindfulness practices or developing a meditation routine. (Click the link in my bio ☝🏼for Mindfulness Meditations for Beginners.💕)

2. Journal⠀
Write out your questions to your intuition! 📝Meditate with these questions and ask your intuition to guide you. Then write the responses out as if you were your compassionate intuition. ⠀

3. Lucid Dreaming⠀
Okay it doesn't have to be lucid 😋 BUT sometimes when I'm trying to figure something out - I ask my subconscious- and my intuition to reveal itself to me in my ✨✨dreams✨✨. Before I go to bed, I say something like, "I ask of you self, tonight please guide me and show me insightful truths about _______________. To help me in my decisions." Contemplate or journal your dreams in the morning. You'll be blown away!
