I was mugged this morning for my breakfast by a gan of three furry bandits. The two small ones took my chicken then the big one took my bowl. .
They were nice enough to let me eat the peppers and mashed potatoes and the few bites of chicken they missed. Apparently that is a recipe I'll have to keep as the entire family seems to have approved.
Got taxes back last week so I was finally able today to get Luna her new Jolly Ball. She still has her first one but the handle has been gone for a very long time. I had promised her a new one for her birthday but didn't have the money so she got an early gotchaversary gift today. In 12 days she will have been home for two years.
Love that punk!
In continuation of our memorials, today we remember Slyvester, aka Sky, Vester, Lion Kitty. We rescued him and two siblings from the stray cat life. Got them all healthy yet in 17 years we could never get rid of his cold. Vets did everything but nothing worked so he grew to also be known as Booger Slinger. He is the one kitty I will never get over.
Thinking of him sleeping on my pillow and listening to his loud purr or missing him insisting on beign held still bring me to tears. He passed four years ago on Fat Tuesday (02/20/14) at 8:05 am.
After I moved downstate he and my mom had an agreement, they ignored each other. She knew when I had been gone too long as he started begging for attention. As soon as I walked in the door he would come out of hiding and wouldn't leave my side until I had to leave again.
In.2008 I finally had a place I could bring him to so he moved downstate too. He was ecstatic but missed the dogs so bad he woke me up everyday for over two weeks crying at 5am. That's when we adopted Houdini.
It took them from Oct to Feb to become inseparable. I feel bad for Dini evey day that he lost his best friend and that the girls are so mean to him. Maybe one day we can get him a brother.
This month we are taking a few moments to remember our furbabies who have passed on.
This is Miss Ashley, aka Midget because she looked so much like her older sister but smaller. It's hard to believe she will be gone 8 years on the 17th. .
She was quite the love bug, always up for a cuddle and equally so for a good roughhousing session. She loved to dig tunnels and lounge with her best pal Slyvester. .
When she first met Sly he was very sick and was on bed rest. She would lay outside his kennel keeping an ever watchful eye. If he needed anything she was the best nurse and alerted his Grammy stat to his needs. Once he was well enough to rejoin the rest of the family they spent many hours together and she quickly learned why when Sly came around they said you had been "invested".
