I attempted to make a bookish rainbow out of fantasy books for the prompts today... It seems like so many fantasy books are black or mostly black, so I did the best I could!
These are some of my favorite fantasy series that I highly recommend:
Throne of Glass & ACOTAR by Sarah J Maas
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (READ THIS! & I can't wait for Strange the Dreamer )
All the Shadowhunter books by Cassandra Clare, but ESPECIALLY The Infernal Devices (I had to use TMI because I needed some orange )
Rainbow of Velaris: Bookish Rainbow #marchmaasness
I'm so sad because I just now found this challenge & March is almost over
Fantasy Book Love #pagelingsmarch
Hate to Love Romance #marchbookstagram
I'll be honest this "trope" is my FAVORITE. I love it so much & Magneo is my all time favoritist. If you love this kind of thing, you need to read Falling Kingdoms & say hi to my precious Prince Magnus for me
Character Trying to Change the World #bookishmusicals
Pretty much all the characters in these books are, but Akiva & Karou were the first that popped into my head because they are literally trying to make angels & demons get along & end a war that's went on for basically forever... Cause we all know how much angels & demons love each other. But trust me when I say that this series is not the typical angel/demon story, so don't let that turn you off if you're tired of that type of story!
"Even in the darkest and most cruel person, there is still a kernel of good. And within the most perfect champion, there is darkness. The question is, will one give in to the dark or the light? It's something we decide with every choice we make, every day that we exist. What might not be evil to you could be evil to someone else. Knowing this makes us powerful even without magic."
Morgan Rhodes, Falling Kingdoms
I've had this series on my shelf for too long. I know so many people who have read it, loved it, and recommended it. I don't have all of the books yet, because I want to get them all in paperback.
Have you read this series? If so, what did you think (no spoilers)?
21 de Março:
EN: Good morning, guys!
I finally finished King's Cage! It took me more than one month to read this book and I think it was OK, I didn't love it but I really want to read the next one because I have a very good hint about the story and what will happen...
But now I'm going to read Rebel Spring and I'm very excited about it. I loved Falling Kingdoms and I think I will love this book too!
What are you reading?
PT: Bom dia, gente!
Fantasy book love: Falling Kingdoms series. I'm gonna start to read Rebel Spring but I know I will love the entire series. #pagelingsmarch
As most of you guys who follow my account, I'm a huge @greenday fan. I've been dealing with horrible bouts of depression throughout my life. If it wasn't for #greenday I wouldn't be where I am today. My love for writing came from reading a bunch of Green Day fanfics online and trying to imitate that. (I still have some of my fanfics posted on Mibba) Depression has been a taboo topic for so long. It's not just feeling sad. It's this feeling that you'd be better off dead or that you aren't good enough. We need to be more aware of the effects of depression and hopefully we can make strides to help our loved ones. "As I walk down on the edge. Are you scared to death to live? I've been running all my life. Just to find a home for the reckless and the truth that's in the message. Making my way...to you." I'm #stillbreathing because of @billiejoearmstrong@mikedirnt@trecool ...oh and #coffee I'lol keep doing what I love doing. Which is reading and writing. I may not have my life all figured out, but that's the fun of it. #bookstagram#bookworm#bibliophile#youngadult#fallingkingdoms#gatheringdarkness#morganrhodes
I have a lot of favorite characters (#marchbookstagram), so I thought I'd pick my 3 favorite book characters that are not as widely raved about!
First, I LOVED Ringer from The 5th Wave series. She didn't come in until The Infinite Sea, but she quickly became my favorite character in the whole series. I loved this series, and Infinite Sea was my favorite of the three! If you've read this series - who's your favorite character? Did you like the way The Last Star ended? I did.
Next, my heart was so drawn to Edward in My Lady Jane. Edward was just so innocent and silly and his interactions with Gracie were just great. If you haven't read this book - WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?!
Okay, excuse my yelling. My last favorite character, who is probably a very well loved and raved about character and SHOULD BE, is Princess Clemons Bellos of Auranos, my heart and soul. I love Cleo so much; such a strong and powerful character fighting for her life in a man's world! Also, not to mention her taste in men... I haven't read Crystal Storm yet, just FYI. •
Also quick last thought - I'm sure Paige Mahoney is going to make this list in a flash because I am LOVING The Bone Season and her specifically. Okay that's enough ranting from me!
