Mug Shot Monday! This stoneware mug is glazed with SW-156 Galaxy over SW-160 Chartreuse Matte and fired to cone 6. This glaze combo creates an interesting brown-green base color accented by blue and red crystals from SW-156 Galaxy!
|| Gunna Get Mugged || In honor of the glaze fire that is happening this week and the new mugs I will have here is one of the pieces that will be fired. The red orange color when fired will actually end up being a solid black glaze, and then the white speckling you see is actually a type of sodium that will cause the glaze at those points to sag and run. I am trying a handful of new glaze ideas this round, so stay tuned for the finished product and some other results!
I’m not sure how I feel about the triangular thumb rest yet. I’m still trying different ones that I like that feel comfortable but also mesh well with the forms I have been producing!
