52 • Spending time with this legend in nature is always food for my soul. Fresh air, amazing views, cuddles and listening to my favourite audio just does wonders. Sometimes getting out creates clarity within. These are the days I tressure • ️
♀️This one’s for all the Mummies who have ever felt like they were “just” a Mum/ the feeling of frustration being a stay at home Mum/longing to go back to work/have some flexibility with something resembling the work they want to do.. and a reminder to go and do things for yourself..on a regular basis..not because you “deserve” it, but because health and happiness are your birthright. Make time for yourself.
It’s only recently, after years of talking to other Mums, of seeing them at pick up day in and day out, of balancing pursuing internships/courses/auditions, of struggling to get my four year old to brush her teeth/get out of the bath/finish her cereal/change her socks/change pretty much anything...that I’ve realised: What have I really done today? I’VE MOTHERED.
If I’ve done zero towards my acting or my writing or any of my other pursuits: I’ve Mothered.
Yesterday, today, tomorrow: mothering. Just, yknow, RAISING A PERSON. Emotionally, mentally, physically, and on a soul level- it’s work. I love it, I love being a Mummy, Maia is my everything, and she’s changed me as a person for the better, she’s changed the way I see the world..but there are moments when I just think “Fuck. Me. This is hard...This is really really fucking hard.” How can I possibly think “being a Mum”, a single parent, is anything less than..well GODDESS LEVEL WORK. (*but that’s a whole other blog post)....
So here I am, sat in Waitrose with my £3 chicken and vegetable soup, reminding myself that, I may not be getting paid for it, but I am a working woman, and I am “contributing to society” because I am raising a wonderful little girl named Maia, and I’m doing a damn good job.
A really, fucking, great job.

Talking about anxiety is like an instant weight being lifted off your shoulders. I’m also trying to eat and drink more healthy. Less caffeine and more water is a must for me! The food I have been putting into my body hasn’t exactly been great either so I’m really going to try and turn that around! I never sit down and eat a bowl of fruit but I give one to the kids everyday... I need start taking time out of my day for me even if it’s just 20 minutes! Let’s do this! #kickanxietysbutt#fuckyouanxiety#mummytime#healthymumma#mummyalfieivy
When you have a fucking shithouse day, all you need is a pretty wall, a kickass friend, some booze, a comedy show and some hot cinnamon donuts to cheer you up. I mean.. that sounds like it takes quite a lot to cheer me up. And that’s because it does
