Despite government imposed withdrawal limits in 2016, Zimbabwe’s banks still run out of money. The lack of funds has caused people to queue up in line in the evening, spending the night waiting, in order to ensure they receive their cash. It’s especially difficult for senior citizens, who are entitled to $60 a month in social security benefits. “I was a truck driver for 45 years and now in my old age when I expect to rest, I have to struggle to get my pension money,” says John Ndaramo, a 77-year-old man who pays $10 to travel 75 miles in order to pick up his monthly pension in Mutare, Zimbabwe. by Fortune Moyo, GPJ Zimbabwe
