3.23.2017: A community meets to take action. Two days after the Marlin ISD school board voted not to cut select administrative positions, members of the community gathered to discuss what they need to do to ensure their children will receive a quality education.
Several common themes were prevalent at tonight's meeting: claims of being stonewalled by administration, allegations of retaliation, and in general a distrust of those in charge. Parents are upset and want answers.
Big thank you to the @uofcincy for the opportunity to speak about 'Credible Journalism in the Clickbait Era' at #SocialMediaWeek alongside some very talented and incredible local journalists. The session's April 6 at 1 p.m.!
What can I say about a place where you "expect more"? It has been an absolute rollercoaster learning how to be a news producer, but I could never have done it without some amazing people. Those who have shown me the ways of news, helped me think outside the box and challenge myself to unthinkable levels. I wouldn't trade any of it, because all of the hard work and effort has made me fall in love with a job that has become my passion. It's been a wonderful two years, and here is to many more in a field where I truly am happy!
