Live boldly, push yourself, don't settle. This quote represents me so well. I always push and push myself and just keep going and going, not accepting the limitations (healthwise) diabetes gives me.
This passion planner for 2018 is going to help me reach greater goals and #bossgirl levels!
I had such an amazing day today. I'm feeling inspired to strive for more! I'm so lucky to be able to work in a dynamic, ever changing industry with the potential to motivate and have impact on peoples lives. Which industry? Sport. And in particular today, women in sport and business. There was a lot I took away from the speakers and attendees today professionally, but one guest speaker got to me on a personal level and I just had to introduce myself. @hayleytalbot spoke about achieving her goal of kayaking The Clarence River from its source to the sea, an unbelievable 400km! Not only did she kayak solo but she also had to hunt and forage, putting her survival skills to the test. Her story resonated with me as I embark on my own personal challenge, taking on the 30km in December and the El Camino Trek in 2018. As much as everyone has been supportive, there have been the odd few who have baulked when I've explained that I'm essentially taking just over 2 weeks out from family life/mum life/work life to do something for me. Mummy guilt is something I feel regularly, but it's also something that is ingrained by society. We often see parents being trolled or shut down by judgy mcjudgersons for taking time out, pursuing personal or professional goals. And I've felt that...sure I'll miss my boys while I'm away, but at the end of the day this opportunity, I believe, will make me a better version of me, a better mother, a better wife. Still me, but with a renewed perspective and sense of personal accomplishment. It just surprises me that in this day and age I'm made to feel selfish for taking on a challenge like this. Even though I'm actually, also, raising money. That and those people aside, as the months pass by I'm more and more looking forward to tackling this trek. I'm so grateful to have a supportive husband, family and group of friends who want to see me succeed. And I'll definitely give it my all, not just for me, but for my support team, my boys and for my fellow IBD warriors and osto-mates out there. . #followyourdreams#fightforyourfairytale#inspiration#icaniwill#crohnswarrior#invisiblediseases#bagsforlife#nolimits#gutlessandwonderful
