18 miles total: 2 mile warm up, then 2x Blue Hills Observatory Road climbs, 1-hour easy running, then another 2x Blue Hills Observatory Road climbs, then 2 mile cool down. Today's run was particularly hard from beginning to end, for many reasons, but I couldn't help but smile the whole time because a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and now I can sit back and enjoy other happenings in my life. Really excited about things to come!
What a fucking run! 22 miles with the middle 2.5 hours at a "marathon effort pace" which included 8 x observatory road climbs (3,579ft of gain total) in 3:17:31 (8:59 min/mi). I really wanted to get in under 3:18 so I was pushing hard even when everything hurt, which it did towards the end. Totally not used to the heat either, so today was good practice with fueling in the heat. Climbs got slower towards the end but my downhills were pretty speedy the whole run. 60 miles total this week with a little over 6,000 feet of vert. Only 6 more weeks until taper time!
