Show and Tell: Your Spirit Animal
I feel like the Crow is my spirit animal. When I was younger and I had to walk to and from school, there was always this one crow who followed me. Now as an adult I see crows everyday of my life.
When I see crows now, I try to focus on what messages I might be receiving. Sometimes it's as simple as the song on the radio being relevant to my current situation. Other times the message is complex, it's something I might have missed if I hadn't paused for a moment to receive it.
I know crows and ravens are powerful animals in mythology, folklore, and native spirituality. As animals they are quite amazing. They are one of the smartest bird species, they can use and create tools, they have close bonds with their flock, they are able to recognize unique facial characteristics, and I find it amusing that a group of crows is called a Murder. Crows are carrion birds so they act as scavengers but more importantly they consume death, waste, and things that no longer serve the environment. It's understandable why crows are held in such high regard.
Obsidian- contemporary pieces carved from Indian (the country) volcanic rock. Kids love them for their beauty. Energy workers find them useful for cutting cords and for use in weaving shielding fields. Obsidian is a traditional energy tools valued by many traditions - because it was formed in fire, but is now cool to the touch, it is very useful in any transformative practice. Black obsidian is very useful for protection, grounding and assisting with communication with one's essence and inner guides.
