As far as the eye can see North or South it's just a flat sand beach. The sand is extremely soft, so if you want to walk in any direction it's going to be a very tough walk. Your calves will be burning in no time, not to mention the soles of your feet!
To the East you have the flat horizon of the Pacific Ocean, with powerful waves crashing onto the beach, washing up all sorts of creatures including birds, fish and even whales!
To the West you can see sparse shrub land and dry rainforest vegetation clustered around freshwater lakes. Each of the lakes are themselves surrounded by several series of sand dunes.
Shout out to my local guide Pearl. The climb to the top of this sand dune after several miles of walking along the beach wasn't exactly easy!
The view from the top was spectacular, and I do miss those waves!
