Royce's first 2 bottom teeth are popping in - and 5 days away from being 10 months old! I kinda can't believe it!! He's growing up and I don't know what to do with myself (insert ugly crying). He's handling teething so well. No fever or any personality change. I have given him some pain reliever cause I can tell it bothers him at times.
Motherhood is when noise takes on a whole new meaning. Energy (theirs, not ours) reaches a whole new level. Motherhood is loving their rough and tumble and their constant go go go. And yet, motherhood is relishing bedtime when we can read a book, soak in a tub, a cup of coffee doesn't need to be reheated 5 times, a glass of wine can actually be sipped, or we can just sit in s.i.l.e.n.c.e. Because we are real. --------
Motherhood is issuing timeouts and reprimanding wrong doings. It can be words that have been spoken harshly, voices raised, and repeating yourself until you're hoarse. Despite being surrounded by tiny versions of yourself all day long, motherhood can be lonely. Motherhood is learning through our mistakes and asking our children for forgiveness. Motherhood is saying sorry when sorry is due. Motherhood is doing our best to lead by example. We are not perfect, but remember, we are perfect for them. ----------
Motherhood is being surrounded by happy smiles emitting from tiny little people. Motherhood is knowing what love feels like coursing through your entire body. Motherhood is having tiny little voices that call us Mommy. Tiny little voices that chorus I Love You. Tiny little bodies that wrap their arms around in hugs. Tiny little bodies that snuggle and cuddle up next to us asking to hold or comfort them without having to use any words. Even though all of these things will change over the course of time as littles grow big and they eventually marry, move on, and have families of their own...some things will always remain. We are blessed. We are mom.
And in this moment we are right where we need to be. #nowisnow
Dear chicken pox. Thankfully you only come once a lifetime. Fortunately J has been a trooper but we didn’t need your sidekick, infection, stopping by too. Please disappear soon and leave my beautiful boy’s face intact. Jacqui #chickenpoxsucks#reallifenotjusttheprettystuff
