We're performing to this patient a subcutaneous mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. For this process, 80% of the mammary glands are removed, thus decreasing the chances of breast cancer in the future, since it is a patient with a history of familial breast cancer. For the replacement of the amount of tissue removed, we will use polyurethane implants thus creating the right size according to the context of our patient.

The 'gray glitter' is gone! My new stylist convinced me to try a little hair color and I'm glad I did. Scary Hair is silky and shiny and looks soooooo much better. Now the real question is if I can style it as nicely over the next 6 weeks? Btw: I know I've blogged about going gray gracefully. But deciding to do this has been a process for me. Let's face it: my husband and I work in a beauty biz. We can't look old, tired and haggard (even though that's how we feel by the end of a week!) Taking the time for a haircut, color, Botox, even a chemical peel seems extravagant to me at times. Maybe because time is such a commodity to me. But I'm glad I'm starting to dive into this 'self-care' adventure. I'm even going to try some of the treatments we offer in our office and let you in behind the scenes. I'll be honest with you along the way... all I can offer is Real!
