A year ago today, i remember getting a call from my doctor. I was at work when she broke the news to me that I had cancer. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Stage 4. It was the most numbing moment ever of my entire life. I remember leaving work shocked, driving with tears in my eyes, headed home.. and all i could think of was how the next few months meant having to pause my entire life, as i fought against death. I really wanted to compete for pole nationals last year, but of course treatment had to be top priority. I tried to continue training, just because I didn’t want to lose the strength. I eventually had to stop because chemo was just making me too weak. Fast forward to today, post chemo and in remission, and it’s like nothing happened. I picked up right where i left off, and I feel my strongest yet. Dance was literally the first thing i did after my last treatment, and i realized that it is what fuels me. I’m just thankful and happy to finally put this all behind me. I’ve never felt more free. #sassyfightscancer || Glitter Shoot Series : @alloyimages
