We are having another sad Monday again (why are Mondays always so sad?).
Ma and I were minding our own business, walking by the river this afternoon. There was a black Pomeranian not too far behind us... she was rather cute. I had a few glances at her but trudged along with Ma like a good pupper. Then an older lady came into our view from the opposite direction with her Golden Retriever. I got really excited and wanted to say hi. Ma tried to distract me but I wasn't interested in the cheese or toy she had. I. JUST. NEEDED. TO. SAY. HI. But Ma says we can't always say hi to every dog we see so she held on to my harness. I barked at the Golden Retriever to see if he would come say hi instead...he barked back (I think he wanted to say hi too). Then his owner shouted out to the Pomeranian owners behind us - "I DON'T THINK THE DOG HAS BEEN OUT A LOT OR SHE HASN'T DONE ANY TRAINING WITH IT AT ALL!"
Excuse me, but I am not an "it". And Ma has done lots of training with me and I do go out a lot. I just get excited when I see other big dogs (just like a lot of teenage puppers)...you saw that I was excited, had the opportunity to step a bit further away from us (Ma and I couldn't go anywhere because we were right next to the river) but you decided to make such hurtful comments instead.
Ma was very upset after the incident...we walked back to the car and she was in tears. We sat in the car for a really long time and she just kept crying. I just chewed on my bully stick...it was yummy. But it made me a bit sad to watch Ma cry... Why are some hoomins so rude and unkind?
