I picked these up last night from a local maker by the name of Randy Lee, here in my small home town of St. Johns Arizona. Randy is a hell of a good guy and was nice enough to invite me I to his home to check out his work. Needless to say I was blown away by what he does. Randy makes some of the nicest knives I've had the fortune to handle and he has won plenty of awards to show it. The knives in his show case are flat out amazing. I snaped a quick pic of the case but should have taken more.
Anyway, these knives I got are what Randy calls his Utility Skiners, and are patterned after the Nessmuk design, as soon as I got them in hand I had to have them. The larger on is made out of my favorite steel CPM-154 and the smaller out of ATS-34. Both are acid stone washed and have a mirror convex bevel. Both also came with nice Kydex sheaths, I've been wearing the small necker sence I got it. I'm highly impressed with Randys work and would love one of his higher end knives, which are also built for use but are so damn pretty it would be a shame to scratch one! You guys should check him out. Here's a link to his website. And remember, Suport your local Knife maker. Cheers
