#throwbackthursday PART 1: Elite European Middle Distance Duathlon Champs, May 2017 (Powerman St Wendel, ). In December 2016 I ran 31.29 at the Telford 10k which was inside the qualifying time to be considered for selection as one of four athletes to represent GB in the 2017 elite middle distance European champs. Following some decent duathlon results in early 2017 I was selected alongside @julianlings, Pete Ellis and Lee Piercy to head out to Germany in May. I was obviously very chuffed! After a few hard months training - and plenty of prancing around the house in my new Elite GB trisuit - I found myself on the start line alongside some serious Powerman legends. It would be fair to say I was quietly absolutely bricking it!
I’ll post PART 2 next Thursday! I’ve got work to do!!!
Hit the track this morning for a big set of 15 progressive 400s with 90 seconds recovery (jog/walk) between each. It was a big and beastly workout and I'm happy I got it done feeling so strong!
It always amazes me how different my body can feel from one run to the next ... yesterday afternoon there was NO WAY my body or mind would have been up for this workout. A slow and easy 4 miles was what I had - and what I needed. Maybe if I had tried to fight that, I would have woken up feeling blah today. But this morning I was ready to rock it and felt like running hard was exactly what my body wanted to do!
