My favorite time to run is when the sun is setting, it's always so peaceful! I knew I had some time tonight to squeeze my run in after work instead of my usual RUNch, I was looking forward to chasing the sunset all day. 5 miles to end Wednesday, hopefully the last run until Fall where I'll have to bundle up 🀞🏼! πŸŒ…πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

RECOVERY. Are any of you like me and find that recovering is almost harder that training? I guess it's symptomatic of my type A personality but I'd rather be doing than resting! πŸ™ˆ but right now what I need to do IS rest. So in part to motivate myself I thought I'd share my favorite recovery tips and products!

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE. Essentially a fancy word for massage. Apparently if your muscle fibers normally look like raw spaghetti, after running a marathon they look cooked! πŸ™ˆ if you're located in LA, I highly recommend a trip to @lopez_chiro the chiropractor for the @lululemonla marathon team. He hooked a girl up with ART and Graston (more fancy words for massage), and 25 minutes in @ntrecovery boots. Before seeing him I could barely walk up and down stairs and now I'm just about ready to run again! πŸ’―
But for those of you on your own, I recommend the trifecta of lacrosse ball, stick and foam roller. I use the lacrosse ball to roll out the bottom of my feet and the stick to easily target needed muscles. I honestly have been too sore to motivate to get on my foam roller but I'll get there soon! πŸ’₯

NUTRITION. With my taper and now time off, I've been running significantly less than before but know the importance of giving my muscles the fuel they need to repair! Since I'm less hungry I like to ensure I'm getting enough protein with @vitalproteins. I'm not a daily smoothie person so the fact that it's nearly tasteless and can go in my coffee is huge. I also like to drink one of @nuunhydration 's all day tablets. It's perfect since I'm not sweating as much I don't need as many electrolytes but want to hydrate my muscles as much as possible!

REPAIR. Now that I have more time from not running I know I need to focus on some of my structural imbalances. I have a lot of hip/glute weakness and use yoga and targeted exercises with my @rocktape band to help strengthen those areas. Let me know if you'd be interested in me doing a more in depth post on these!

TREAT YO SELF. Enjoy your extra free time! I've been loving cooking more and relaxing with my @sajewellness aromatherapy. But let's be real, I'm ready to get back running! πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I rather been running than working on Abs, but your core is key for running.

If you are looking for perfect abs you will be frustrated most of the time. .For me they are a side effect for my running , i don't care if they show or not , worry about how you feel not how you look . Abs are sooo moody !!

4th time running today! Taking it really easy and alternating 3 minute run intervals with 1:30 walk intervals. Even though it was broken up, these 15 minutes were damn good for the soul. And more than that, they were 100% pain free. If I continue to stay that way, I'll be able to run The Tenacious Ten (10k) in one month. I'm on my way! πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
