Theme of this week: finding consistency in training again. 💚💚 I felt like screaming, I DID IT!!!!!! at the end of this one. 🎉💙🎊 Unintentional progression run during my recovery four miles (9:41, 9:34, 9:32, 9:26), which i split up between lifting. 🏃🏽‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️ 1 mile warm up, then stretching & foam rolling; another mile; long jump drills, deadlifts, straight leg dead lifts & lat pull downs; another mile; hammer curl, triceps extension, hack squat machine, and supine flies; last mile. 💦💪🏻 Broke it up since i was feeling anxious after a 10.5 hour work day BUT I GOT IT DONE! 🙌🏻 23.17 miles of the 40-45 ✔️ #werunsocial #halfmarathontraining #runhappy #runchat #runnerscommunity #borntorunfree #runnerlife #runstrong #girlswhorun #runnerspace #fitsnap #seemyrun #badassladygang #runningwithanxiety #RADrabbit #runinrabbit

I had to keep reminding myself of that yesterday during my “quick” 2 miler yesterday [8:39, 8:05]. I was hoping to run a faster pace but between the damp cold, taking almost two weeks off and heavy legs, my body wasn’t having it. Gotta get back at it slowly bc this gal wants nothing to do with an injury this time around!! .

Took today off of running and spent 20 min doing an awesome Yoga workout/stretch with @bohobeautifullife ❤️and feel so much better!!!! Learning to love the off days.

This run was pretty rough from the start. My legs are dead from my workout yesterday and running outside now seems to take so much more effort than running on a treadmill. 😩 But I finished the miles in 80-degree weather and got in a decent ab workout, so I’m gonna call that a win. 🏅I’m still in disbelief that it’s Friday tomorrow—gotta love four-day work weeks! 😍

I started reading (well...listening 👂) to What Made Maddy Run this week. It’s so thought provoking & it’s really made me want to evaluate my own habits. I want to make sure I’m on social media for the right reasons & balancing actual human contact relationships as well. 👯‍♀️

It’s so easy to hide behind our phones. 📱So Easy. It’s much harder to go out into the real world and make connections. A sad realization for me is that I probably compliment & encourage more people via social media or text than I do verbally. Granted most of my days/hours are spent with my littles-but I would like to find a better balance. ⚖️

Ahh. Legs up and a few moments with my sweet golden girl before bed. Another late night treadmill workout. I’ve done more work on the treadmill this training cycle then I ever imagined, but running in the dark, after work has not been my thing lately. Never enough time during daylight to tackle all things in life and running. A 2 mile warm up, followed by 4 miles, each at 8:19 pace with 2% incline, then a 1 mile cool down. Four miles easy! I was a little excited about this run because I remembered when nothing under 9 minute pace felt easy and getting faster and more in shape is so exciting even though I have a long way to go! I also found out that instead of a hip flexor pull, I actually pulled an adductor (more of the groin region). So, hopefully with some stretching and caution I can kick it without it kicking me first!

On the second day of yoga for the inflexible and clunky, I tried a @bulldogyoga online class.
Here are my thoughts:
•Thank God this was in the privacy of my home.
•Do most people sweat like me in a 25 min yoga class?
•You want me to wrap what around what and bend where?
•Ok, this feels kind of good. Let’s just stay here.
•I should probably do this again. (Maybe with wine)

I tried the bulldog bites hips and hammies bc well, my hips and hammies are a hot mess. And while it was hard for a beginner like me, it did feel really good. Particularly whatever I’m doing here, which is likely incorrect, but hey I felt it! ✌🏻❤️🧘🏼‍♀️

Vincent Kipruto will run the Tokyo Marathon for the first time in his career.
He owns a record on Half Marathon of 1:00:19 that he established in Lille in France and on marathon of 2:05:13 in Rotterdam in 2010.
In 2011, he finished 2nd at the World Athletics Championships in 2:10:06 behind @abelkirui20504 (2:07:38).
Last September he ran 02:06:14 at the Berlin Marathon.
