Last year I was privileged represent Dallas as an ambassador on a last minute notice at the Face of Kenya (FoK) pageant. I really enjoyed being a part of it, strutting the runway and showing off my style and talent. What really intrigued me the most was the idea behind FoK pageant. It’s more than just a beauty pageant, but a platform to empower young men and women to give back to the society. The girls who I met there were intelligent women who represented something deeper than just looking pretty. I was privileged to be amongst them. Last year’s winner @drmercykoech has done tremendous work with Bethel’s children’s home back at home. I’m proud of what she’s done. Even though we are more than blessed to be living in America, we should never forget where we come from. No matter how successful we are living outside Kenya, it will forever be our home. We have sisters and brothers back there who at times need our support, and we cannot afford to turn our backs on them. If we don’t try to build our home then who will? Maybe you feel like you alone, and cannot make a difference or you feel like you don’t have enough resources, but what if we all did something? Imagine how much we can do. Keep that at the back of your mind.
Be that as it may, I’m happy to announce that I am officially running for Face of Kenya 2018. I have a deep sincere passion for my mother land and that is one thing that most can say describes me as a person. I was born in Nyakach, and I spent half of my life there. I grew up there and went to school there. It’s a place that is very close to my heart. Everything I am now, is as a result of what I was taught there. I still remember some of the things I was taught there, mostly because I was disciplined the Kenyan style. I get excited every time I hear from my friends back home. I’ve decided to use this opportunity to help support my school, Innis Educational Center, back in Nyakach. I will be posting more details including pictures, what I plan on achieving and how you can help soon! Stay tuned!! #faceofkenya#kenya#home#firstlove#paegent#birthday#2018#goals#charity#model#losangeles#september#love#queens#style#beauty#elegance
