T A E M A
Ready for purchase next week.
She is named after Taema, who was a Siamese twin to Tilafaiga. Both sisters like Moso had links to our Fijian relatives. Over in Fiji they swam back to Samoa and brought back the sacred measina we know as our Malu and Pe’a here in Samoa.

M O S O
Ready for purchase next week Monday. She is made of Fijian Masi and Samoan Siapo. She tells the story of Moso the Giant, who walked from Fiji to Samoa, leaving footprints 👣 in both islands. The circle feature are the coconuts that fell from Moso shaking the trees out of anger from pestering humans.

Kolikoli #hananoeau. uhole removing outer brown bark from wauke #siapo #wauke #kapa. (HOHOLE) peel it [off the branch]; that is how to do it until many are obtained, until the desire is met, then finish the cutting and peel off (KOLIKOLI) the [outer]skin, until all the [outer skin of the] wauke is peeled (KOLIKOLI), lay it aside; that is how you arrange it until [the pile is] tall. When the amount is enough to be carried in one bundle, then tie it until secured, then return home. When one arrives at the house, leave it to slightly decompose (PUHI) in water, until six days pass, or eight days, ten days indeed, or twenty days, then fetch it and bring it back.

So, the interesting words were "uhole," "hohole," "kolikoli," and "puhi."
In this sequence, the "hohole" was done first, THEN the "kolikoli" afterward.

Then, the word "puhi" is found with "heʻe puhi – slightly decomposed octopus." These things are NOT reflected in the English translations provided in that same book. #kukukapa

We love that we can bring back our TA (Matau- hook) motif in a variety of styles and color this season. For more info, give us a call at (808)782-6715 during our normal business hours. “The Treasure of The Fish Hook”

It connects what's hidden beneath the sea and those connected to the land. The hook is covered by provision, tamed by those who master it.
