I became an expert at figuring out other people’s expectations and meeting them.
This got me approval, but it never made me happy.
I wasn’t passionate about grades, awards, or approval.
I didn’t feel butterflies in my stomach while doing maths or studying until the wee hours of the night.
I didn’t feel shivers down my spine while I stared into the mirror for hours trying to make myself look pretty.
And I didn't feel energized hanging out with people who I didn't even like, because they seemed to be 'cool'.
