Squats are, hands down, one of the best exercises so doing them well is important.
In the first pic @kateulreich is hunched over, knees are driven forward, and she’s putting a lot pressure on her lower back.
In the second picture she is sitting back into her glutes, keeping her hamstrings engaged and driving through her heels so her knees don’t come forward. Her back is also at the same angle as her calves because she’s keeping her chest up and core engaged. That stabilizes her lower back and keeps her injury free. We also put her heels up on a tiny platform (the 2.5 lb. plate) to create the best form. If you have a hard time doing this with a back squat try doing a front squat until your form is perfect.

There is not enough words in the English language or any language for that matter to describe how eternally grateful I am for this woman right here. From surprising me in August with our game tickets to just making this trip an UNFORGETTABLE one, and everything in between, I’m speechless right now. She sure did spoil me with this trip so I owe her huge for this one. She has definitely opened my eyes to seeing that life is more than just about that mediocre 9-5 life, that in order to actually LIVE is that you have step outside the box every now and then.
