Slide Off the beaten track by @indiastretched Ayan has captured one years worth of travel photographs in Sri Lanka. He's not only traveled the conventional route but also visited many locations which most don't have the luxury to visit. .
He's taken intricate photos of the details we rarely take the time to look at. Also, each photograph comes with interesting reading material. Started on 14th Oct 2016 and completed on 5th Oct 2017, an entire years worth of physical travel across the length and breath of this magical island.
An amazing travel experience, Journeying through Sri Lanka and reminiscing about the placed seen. Follow him, he's now in Cambodia so far, a journey to experience within itself.

Koggala is a small coastal town, situated at the edge of a lagoon on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in Galle District, Southern Province. Koggala is bounded on one side by a reef, and on the other by a large lake, Koggala Lake, into which the numerous tributaries of the Koggala Oya drain. It is approximately 139 kilometers (86 mi) south of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 3 meters (9.8 ft) above the sea level. Source : Wiki
It might sound a little ironic but I love moments that make me feel small in a big world
Watching the mist rise over the lake in Benthara River at sunrise...moments like these that teach me the importance of humble humanity, to never stop growing as a person and to never stop believing in the world because nature is pure and perfect. All that matters in the moment IS the moment itself and although millions of people are living their own lives, they have the power to make you feel as though everything else is standing still
When I take photos like these I shoot on self timer which has kind of become like a meditation for me. I don't like to pose too much (hence the shots you often see from behind...plus I don't have to worry about how my face looks ). After I've taken the shot I put the camera down and LIVE in it, even for just 5 minutes. Although no one else knows, authenticity of myself is just as important to me as what other people can see.
Despite feeling small in a big world, every individual matters. One simple act of kindness from one person can create a domino effect which I find incredibly empowering and inspiring. I social media because of the accessibility and goodness we can share through it but it's important to remember that living in the real world should always be a priority- it's all about balance. It's mental health awareness this week so let's look out of one another face to face

Feeling lucky? Quirky little shops like this are one of the many reasons I love this country Lucky Stores is along St Andrew's Drive in #NuwaraEliya which is one of my all time favourite towns to explore by foot, eat a tonne of street food (I'm a parippu wade with fried red chilli addict ) and of course talk to people in the local markets etc
Also some exciting news- I just finished a 9 page photo story on the hill country for @natgeotraveluk coming out in the next print issue It's a HUGE honour to be featured in one of my favourite magazines and of course have the opportunity to share the beauty of Sri Lanka through my lens #grateful#styleinsrilanka
