Taking a #socksunday photo before coffee is quite the contortion, but it wouldn't be right to take it in advance! Also this glorious 1940s copy of one of my forever favourites, Susan Coolidge's What Katy Did At School. It has a bookplate in the front informing me that one Barbara Stafford of Barnes Baptist Sunday School was awarded it for regular attendance in 1943. It looks small next to my legs but I don't think that's its fault!
The 'Christmas Boxes' chapter is the one that warms my heart more than almost any passage of fiction I can think of - just looking at it now makes me want to cry. There's certainly something in that idea of receiving a parcel of everything that you could hope for at that moment that is my goal with the very concept of subscription box. Nothing so wonderful as finding one thing, and then another, and then something tasty, and so much thought and feeling inside it - but the senders aren't there, it's just you, and the box. Magical. .
These socks also remind me of my primary school socks in a way socks haven't for years - putting them on this morning, that struggle to get the lines straight enough took me right back...
May your Sunday be cosy and wise ~P

"Perhaps, we should love ourselves so fiercely that when others see us they know exactly how it should be done." — Rudy Francisco —————————————————

"Even more, I had never meant to love him. One thing I truly knew - knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the center of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest - was how love gave someone the power to break you."
-Stephenie Meyer, Twilight
"The bond forged between us was not one that could be broken by absence, distance, or time. And no matter how much more special or beautiful or brilliant or perfect than me he might be, he was as irreversibly altered as I was. As I would always belong to him, so would he always be mine."
-Stephenie Meyer, New Moon
"Isabella Swan?” He looked up at me through his impossibly long lashes, his golden eyes soft but, somehow, still scorching. “I promise to love you forever—every single day of forever. Will you marry me?”
There were many things I wanted to say, some of them not nice at all, and others more disgustingly gooey and romantic than he probably dreamed I was capable of. Rather than embarrass myself with either, I whispered, “Yes.”
"Thank you,” he said simply. He took my left hand and kissed each of my fingertips before he kissed the ring that was now mine."
-Stephenie Meyer, Eclipse
"No measure of time with you will be long enough, but we'll start with forever."
-Stephenie Meyer, Breaking Dawn
