Toasted sunflower bread with mackerel fillets and a cup of tea.
I read a while back that eating protein in the morning (i think within half an hour of rising) encourages increased brain activity and improved mental health. We'll see if that's true later on when I get to the school for my Nat 4 in running a youth parliament election.
Speaking of later on, on day 3.5 of this #amonthoffood journey, I've discovered why instagram hipsters started the trend for beards. It wasn't to give people with simple, childlike concerns about beauty and art an air of ruggedness or manliness like we all thought. It was because you lose that slot in your morning, or in my case - early afternoon, where you would have a shave because you're too busy spending ten minutes positioning your breakfast for an instagram shot. It's dangerous to hold your £500 device over a sink while you've got a facefull of foam and a razor in the other hand.
Maybe this explains the rise of the Turkish barber in Scotland. A place where you can have a shave and get both hands on your keyboard. You also get the feelgood factor of meeting someone from another culture and helping them integrate into your own society - an important idea to keep hold of on the day of The Inauguration of Satan (J. Trump). Back to the food and further hipster cliches, the only reason there isn't avocado in this shot, which would have added to the aesthetic and eating enjoyment, is because the other avocado in the ready-to-eat pack was like a bullet. Sorry. I'll apologise on behalf of the supermarket for your limited viewing pleasure. If we were real hipsters or bohemians or had more time and money, we'd get our avocados from a friendly local greengrocer with a tight t-shirt, beard and better hair than mine.
Isn't Instagram, and social media in general, a wonderful thing? Allowing you to think about other cultures and gaining some perspective on your own. Even if you do only have six followers. Every little helps.
While I've been posting this I've done loads and the wonderful genius @kerryapanda has had two great art project ideas.
Anyway, as I said, I'm in a bit of a hurry to get to work!
