Bent over Row vs Pendlay row, which is better? Well neither is better really. Both should be utilised depending on your goals. While the bent over row you control the both ends of the contraction and force time under tension on the muscles and is great for hypertrophy in the back with some strength benefits in there, the pendlay relies on explosive movements and a structurally stiff core and back to stay parallel with floor while performing the exercise. Emphasising more on strength over hypertrophy and can really help stiffen up that posture to build better deadlifts and squats.
