Thanks to Neofital, an excellent training program, I feel fit, strong and flexible again!
Jan showed me these exercises a few months ago, which I can do on my own and do it almost 30 minutes 2 - 3 times a week.
Already after the first training I was able to sleep through painless, knees, legs and shoulder did not hurt anymore.
Meanwhile I can walk without any problems, enjoy the pain-free sleep and am looking forward to skiing like crazy!
Sorry for the horrid photo quality recently, but I don't carry my camera everywhere!
Jewel went to her first buffet dinner with me last night. It was a Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the Catholic students at UF. **She was allowed there, I'd asked before going.** It was fantastic practice: We waited in a line that went through a very skinny hallway and she performed her block each time we stood still. Once we got up to the line, I looped the leash around me so I could gather and hold food, and she stayed at my heel as I moved down the line and never took interest in the food on the table! This is her once we sat down at a table, staying under and in her "relax" position (resting her head). We got lots of practice maneuvering in small spaces with lots of people and focusing in the hectic environment. Most people that were interested asked to pet her, and I just said she was training. Everyone was really nice, but I definitely don't know if I could have gone without her. There were a TON of people. Great job, Jewel!
At hunt camp on Friday, Jewel met a goofy blood hound pup. Jewel is not allowed to play yet, so I told her to stay near me. This is the first direct dog-dog interaction she's had outside the farm family dogs in a long time! I pushed the pup, Peewee, off a couple of times before this as she is so big and was a bit too much for my girl. After that she approached much more gently and Jewel gained a little confidence since I was protecting her from being mauled, so she was VERY patient! I'm proud of her!

Lots of distractions today during our practice outing, but Jewel did help me when I needed it. I had to go sit down for a minute due to a combination of anxiety and a blood sugar issue and she did exactly what I've been teaching her. We'll need more practice to extend the time, but for right now, this was probably the largest success of our outing. Great job, Jewel!
